DESIGN
- Structural Efficiency
Being made of 40% air, hollow core substantially reduces dead weights while offering the
maximum structural efficiency as per the slab depth.
- Ultra-Long Spans
A reduction in the need of intermediate supports within your structure and thus allows you
to be more expressive with the additional floor space available. The Span Precast 380mm Hollow Core
can span in excess of 15 linear metres.
- Sound / Fire Resistance
Common flooring made from timber and tiles offer little resistance to excess noise levels particularly on
different floor levels. Hollow Core concrete floors provide an extremely efficient sound barrier between living areas.
Dubai Municipality states standard precast elements must withstand fire damage for 1.5 hours. On request, Span Precast products can have a fire resistance rating of up to 4 hours.

- Finished Surface
A direct result from our strict quality standards, our hollow core product can in particular cases be manufactured and eventually installed as a finished surface. As a result, time consuming activities like painting and screeding are significantly reduced and even eliminated.

CONSTRUCTION
- Rapid, All-Weather
Even the most critical project schedules can be maintained all year round, in any weather. Manufactured and cured on our site, Span Precast Hollow Core is delivered ready to erect. With our erection crew of 4 people, up to 10,000 square feet can be installed per day.
- Immediate Working Surface
Once our Hollow Core product is installed, it is immediately available as a working platform. Comparably, in-situ concrete surfaces require significant curing times and are inaccessible while in the propped condition.
- Maximum Speed
Span Precast Hollow Core is up to 10 times faster to install then in-situ construction methods. As a result, the contractor gains the benefits of faster project completion times while while indirectly reducing your project overhead costs.
- Minimum Maintenance

DESCRIPTION
A multi-talented product...
Hollowcore as the name suggests is a prestressed, precast concrete unit that has a series of predetermined hollow spaces running throughout the length of the product thus reducing weight and improving thermal performance. For Structural reinforcement Steel strand located at key points inside the concrete is added and prestressed thereby increasing the product’s load carrying capacity.
Units are manufactured by using a continuous slipforming technique where dry mix concrete is compacted around engineered moulds ‘cassettes’ thus forming our signature product profile. Simultaneously, high tensile steel strand in the product is pre-stressed using our multi-stressing technology® at locations specific to the products span, load carrying capacity and fire rating requirements.
The combined result is a product that provides up to three times the strength and support of conventional tensile reinforced slabs while being 40% lighter per sq. metre it covers. Available in widths up to 2.4 metres as load bearing and finished floor surfaces, SPC Hollow Core floors are suitable for floor sections of residential buildings or commercial structures where wide spans need to be covered without the support of multiple vertical columns.
